Slice of Life is located in the community of Archer Meadows located off Schnepf and Combs. The facility is a garage that has undergone a total transformation to a private fitness studio.
The prices are actually aligned with industry standards and comparable what you would pay at EOS or Mountainside Fitness. Many factors were considered when determining pricing.
Experience - unlike most other trainers, Sarah has been in the industry since 2007 and has completed her Master's of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport and Exercise Psychology, allowing her to not only provide guidance on physical goals, but to also help clients implement longterm behavior change.
Private - Offering a private facility gives people an opportunity to exercise in a space that eliminates external factors that could deter people from participating in exercise which means revenue is only generated when someone is in the studio. Local gyms marketing themselves as "affordable personal training in a group setting to reduce costs" are not actually providing personal training, but they are charging $30+ per person for one group fitness class. At Slice of Life, we only offer small group workouts of 5 or less and the personal training sessions are tailored to the client's goals, not the group's goals.
The Studio - The vision for this studio was to create a space for training without the overhead of renting a commercial space. What was previously a garage, underwent a full remodel to ensure it didn't feel like you are working out in a dingy garage.
Amenities - Personal trainers and gyms are easy to access, but the vision for Slice of Life was to provide higher end amenities - InBody Composition Testing found in commercial gyms and used by professional sports teams, commercial quality equipment, stretching table, television, and a sound system with individualized playlists.
Of course not! You will receive access to the Trainerize App to track workouts and progress. You will have the ability to communicate directly with your trainer outside of sessions, nutritional support, manual stretching, community support, and access to small group workouts.
When you schedule an InBody test, you will receive an email on how to prepare for your test. On the day of your test, you will wear light weight clothing, remove your socks and shoes, and use special wipes to increase conductivity through your hands and feet. You will stand on the InBody and in less than 45 seconds, it will output your results that you will review with your trainer.
The InBody separates a generalized program from a personalized program based on facts. The InBody generates a segmental analysis, allowing the program to be designed based on areas of improvement i.e. programming two leg days instead of one to balance out your overall physique. It is also key in guiding nutrition recommendations as it generates basal metabolic rate and macronutrients needed to meet your goals.
